Split Together was written out of the frustration of practicing a Bach piece over and over. I finally said to myself that I'll just have to write something that I can play. This was the first part of the piece. The second part is inspired by one of my one of favorite guitar players, Fareed Haque. I had just seen a show of his and he played a piece with a particular rhythm that stuck with me. Split Together is three different ideas smashed together to make one piece of music.
