Recording Notes
Recording took place from September through November of 2018. All of this took place in our apartment in Winnetka, Illinois. I call the studio space 918 becuase that is our street address. The equipment I used was a Zoom microphone and GarageBand on my Mac. Mixing and mastering was done with GarageBand and as well. I wanted to keep this as simple as possible and not get bogged down with process and more about capturing the creative moment.
The recording process was different for me due to the fact that our apartment is a fairly noisy space to record music. You need to excuse any strange sounds you may hear. I would frequently have to pause or start over due to a flushing toilet, airplane flying overhead or a vehicle driving through the ally way down below. Also my cat Ahsoka would frequent recoding sessions and would like to participate by a meow or spend a little time on her scratch post. This is a work of patients and perseverance.
